The Board

Melville is governed by a Board made up of voluntary, unpaid members who are responsible for the strategies and policies delivered by our staff.

Board members are elected every year at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Our Board Members

Chair: Ms Caron Quinn

Caron QuinnCaron, who was elected Chair of Melville in 2017, is a qualified accountant and a chartered internal auditor. She joined the Board in 2014 and has 30 years experience providing risk-based internal audit and business support services to clients from many different sectors in the UK and Australia.

Caron has a detailed knowledge of the housing sector, developed over the past 12 years while providing services to Scottish Registered Social Landlords. She is also the Chair of West Lothian Citizens Advice Bureau and a member of their Governance, Policy and Procedural committee.

Vice chair: Mr David Bond

David BondDavid joined the Board in 2016 and was elected vice chair the following year. He lives in Midlothian and has an interest in the development of the local community.

A chartered accountant with a wide range of financial and commercial skills, David is a partner in an international search firm that works across a wide range of sectors.

Secretary: Mrs Barbara Shearer (tenant)

Barbara ShearerBarbara is a Melville tenant and the longest serving member of the Melville Board, having originally joined in 2004.

A keen and active member of a number of local community groups including the Girl Guides, Barbara has recently been recognised for her 20 plus years as a leader in the Guide movement and currently volunteers as both a Guide guider and a Rainbow leader.

 

Member: Mr Glen Alexander

board member blankGlen joined the Board in 2017 and lives in Broughty Ferry.

With a career background in the international banking sector, Glen currently works as a relationship executive with the FCFM Group. 

Member: Ms Donna Bogdanovic

Donna BogdanovicDonna lives in Newtongrange and joined the Melville Board in 2017.

Currently working as a senior housing strategy officer with Scottish Borders Council, Donna is an active member of her local community and has a strong interest in the social housing sector. 

Member: Mr Paul Cameron (tenant)

Paul CameronPaul joined the Board in 2013. 

A tenant of the Association, Paul works for Midlothian Council.  Previously he has worked in the postal service and in building maintenance.

Member: Mr Andrew Dougherty

male headAndrew was born and raised in Edinburgh and joined Melville's Board in 2017. 

A qualified management accountant and finance executive with 25 years experience, Andrew currently works for the Weir Group Plc.

Andrew has a great deal of experience in voluntary youth work, including in the Army Cadet Force and is particularly interested in community engagement opportunities.

 Member: Mr Sean Gillespie

Sean GillespieSean joined the Melville Board in 2017 and is a chartered building surveyor with over 30 years experience in property and construction.

Sean has a background in strategic asset planning, procurement and transformational development. He has worked for Edinburgh Leisure as head of property and estates, the National Museums of Scotland as head of estates operations and has also worked in social housing as a senior property manager with Trust Housing.

Member: Mr David Heneghan

board member blank1David joined the Melville Board in 2017 and has a great deal of experience in business and the public sector.

He's worked for a number of organisations including City of Glasgow Council where he was responsible for the Revenues and Benefits team.

Outside work David is a keen volunteer coaching boys football, raising funds for both Mary’s Meals and a variety of cancer charities, and helping a local charity with their books.

Member: Mr Bob Jack

Bob JackBob joined Melville’s Board in 2017. He lives in Dundee and works for Hillcrest Maintenance Services as operations manager.

Bob, who is a joiner by trade, has worked in the housing sector for the past 23 years and has been involved with housing developments, public contract procurement, as well as reactive and planned maintenance. Prior to joining Hillcrest he worked as a customer service manager for a national house builder and a site manager with Dundee City Council.

Member: Ms Emily Kasiera

Emily KasieraEmily is a former tenant of Melville Housing and was re-elected to the Board in September 2014, having previously served from September 2001 to 2006.

She has worked for the civil service (in the inland revenue), in personnel and later in processing sickness benefits. She is also a qualified nurse in both general and psychiatric health.

 Member: Ms Clare Marshall

Clare MarshallClare joined the Melville Board in 2017.

With a background in marketing, Clare specialises in events and product launches as well as brand and business development. She also has a detailed knowledge of the workings of small to medium sized businesses.

Member: Mr Allan Murphy

Allan MurphyAllan joined Melville’s Board in 2010 and has worked in the housing sector for more than 30 years.

Allan has a range of experience covering  homelessness and support for older people. He is currently the chief executive officer of Dunbritton Housing Association, a general needs association that provides affordable homes and services in West Dunbartonshire and Argyll & Bute.

 Member: Mr Scott Pryde

Scott PrydeScott is a chartered accountant who joined Melville’s Board in 2017.

With more than 20 years experience in the Financial Services industry, Scott specialises in financial analysis, auditing and managing risks.

Scott feels that affordable housing is extremely important to modern society and wishes to provide his financial services for the benefit of the wider community.

Member: Mr Bill Takhar

Bill TakharBill joined the Melville Board in 2017 and has a great deal of social housing experience.

Bill started working in the social housing sector in 1994 and has been employed by several different local authorities across the UK. During that time he has developed skills and experience in a wide range of areas including estate management, housing maintenance and homelessness.
