Moving Out

Ending your tenancy

If you want to end your tenancy, you must give us at least 28 days written notice. Please complete the online termination form at the foot of this page and make sure you provide us with all the information we need.

Once you've let us know you're moving out we will send a property officer to inspect your home. They'll tell you if you need to do any redecoration or carry out any repairs before you leave.

When moving home there is a lot to consider and it's easy to forget things that may cost you money later.

If you don't remember to carry our repairs or decorating that you've been asked to then we will have to do it before the new tenant moves in and then send you the bill.

Moving out

Before moving out, remember to:

  • clean and tidy the house. Sinks, toilets, baths and showers should be cleaned, floors swept and cupboards cleared
  • make sure that your paint or wallpaper is in an acceptable condition
  • repair or replace any broken fixtures or fittings
  • tidy the garden and clear any rubbish. You could get billed if we have to sort out an overgrown garden
  • inform your gas, electricity, broadband and telephone service providers
  • arrange for your post to be redirected
